There was a shrine there for these personalities, but it was bombed and destroyed in by the merciless brutality of ISIS. He was among the first 10 people to have embraced Islam. More than 32 Hadith have been recorded from him. This man also participated in almost every battle of Islam. He lived a long life, but towards the end he died from ill health and infirmity. Again, he was one of those who did not agree with the leadership after Rasulullah SAWA and the direction the Ummah was moving in.
He was very sick and therefore could not join Imam Ali a. But Imam Ali a. Khabbab ibn Aratt was among those who suffered terrible tortures. His son Abdullah was also a Sahabi, and in fact one of the commanders of Imam Ali a. Abdullah ibn Khabbab was arrested by these Kharijites and they interrogated him about his opinion on the Sahaba. True to form, they then summoned for him to be killed. How did they kill him? They tied him with his pregnant wife to a date palm tree. But then in this process some dates fell from the tree and one of these Kharijites ate it.
His peers got very upset, saying that it was Haraam to eat the date as the tree does not belong to them. They became so sensitive about this, as this one Kharijite ate the dates without the permission of the farm owner. So they commanded him to seek out the farm owner and implore his forgiveness for this mistake, since they should have seeked his permission first. When Abdullah ibn Khabbab witnessed this apparent religiosity and commitment to Islam laws of honesty, he told these Kharijites that surely they will not kill him for relaying a Hadith from Rasulullah SAWA.
What did they reply? They told him that they will host a Kaafir non-believer if he was passing by, but he Abdullah ibn Khabbab became Murtad according to them for believing that Ali a. They therefore executed him, and his pregnant wife, and cut the stomach to remove the baby and also had this unborn baby executed! This is the Kharijite mentality who were so sensitive over a few dates, but then commit such heinous crimes!
Hazrat Qarni RA requested that a mark be left there for him to see and to thank God for curing him of that dreadful disease. When you meet him, convey my salaam to him and request him to pray for the salvation of the Ummah on the Day of Resurrection.
When only one man left standing at the Arafat he asked him: Are You Qarni? What is my significance that I make Dua for you? If you keep your faith in Allah and His Messenger peace be upon him , you will receive my prayers in your graves. Now, in front of you stand the people who are going to Hellfire, intercede for them, because of you thousands will be given Paradise.
This is why I have stopped you that you may intercede. There are so many lessons which we can derive from the blessed life of Hadrat Sayyiduna Owais Qarni — may Allah be pleased with him. One of them is serving your parents. One is great concern for this Ummah. One is how to refrain from the evils of trying to become rich and famous. It is of no value to merely read the stories of such great people and learn nothing from it.
In Sha Allah. There is also a special Durud which has been written by Hadrat Sayyiduna Owais Qarni — may Allah be pleased with him — and we should endeavour to also enjoy the spiritual benefit which is hidden in this Durud.

He searched for him among the Hujjaj and one day, he came to know that there were a few people from the Bani Muraad who had arrived for Hajj. Both he and Hadrat Sayyiduna Ali — may Allah be pleased with him — then went in search for him.
They asked the people from the caravan whether there was someone among them whose name was Owais. One person mentioned that he has a nephew whose name is Owais but he is extremely thin and weak. They mentioned that they were in search of this person. The person informed them that he was stationed near the Plains of Arafat tending to the camels. The commander of this army was someone whose name was Saariyah. He once forget his way on how to reach the Muslim army while they were in Rome.
He was someone who had just been imprisoned and had escaped and went in search of the Muslim army. The lion then began to wag his tail like a dog would normally do and came and stood next to Hadrat Safeenah — may Allah be pleased with him. They continued to walk in this fashion. Whenever the lion heard any noise, he ran to investigate and then returned to Hadrat Sayyiduna Safeenah — may Allah be pleased with him — and continued walking next to him.
This continued until he was able to re-join the Muslim army. The lion then turned back. The night also was very dark. When these people began to leave, both of them had a small stick in their hands. One of these stick then became a source of light for both of them. When their paths separated, the stick of the other person also lit up and each of them continued in this fashion until they reached their homes.
The reason why Hadrat Sayyiduna Owais Qarni — may Allah be pleased with him — remained in Seclusion The Awliya also mention that the state and stature of those Awliya who remain secluded and alone is certainly much greater than those Awliya who are famous. The relationship between us and the true servants of Allah Almighty We must bear in mind that Islam has emphasised the relationship of religious brotherhood rather than family brotherhood.
Your nose which you see in front of you, is also the shape of a grave. His spiritual Silsilah also spread through this Mureed.
This was the Mureed to whom he gave his blessed stick and blanket. For those who seek the Hereafter, a very thoughtful incident The following incident has always been presented by the wise for those who continue to possess hearts that ignore the Hereafter. They are: To have the desire to always eat good food. To have the desire to always wear new and classy clothes.
To display pride that one is in the company of the rich and famous. A Nawab and a Faqeer It is mentioned that the leader or Governor of an area in Bahawulpur was someone named Nawab Saadiq Mohammed Abbasi who was also the fourth Governor of this region. Busy yourself in the Zikr of Allah Almighty in such a manner as if you have severed all ties with the Dunya.
Without divorcing yourself from the world, you will never achieve piety. Surrender yourself to Allah Almighty and remove all doubts in your acts of Ibadah. True sincerity in Salaah means that even if an arrow pieces your side, you should be unaware of this. I desired a status in the Hereafter and found it in contentment in this world.
I desired pride and found it in choosing poverty. I desired a high status and found it in humility. I desired a high status in family lineage and found it in adopting piety. I desired leadership in the Hereafter and found it in this world by giving good advice to people. I desired independence and found it in honesty.
I desired ease in the hereafter and found it in spiritual penitence and striving.
