It is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The critically acclaimed production is most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.
As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one play presented in two Parts, which are intended to be seen in order on the same day matinee and evening or on two consecutive evenings. The show is suitable for ages 10 and up.

It is anticipated that the show will be less than 3hours and 30 minutes including intermission. Both the original two-part and the reimaged one-part production will have the same seating plan. Please note this is a specific Harry Potter seating plan and may vary to other seating plans available on the internet. During the performance you will see some birds in cages but please note these birds are not real — just very realistic pieces from our brilliant props department!
There are no real birds featured in the production. When are tickets on sale until? Tickets for reimagined One Part production will go on sale 19 November. How do I book? Tickets for the reimagined one-part production will go on sale via our new ticketing partner Ticketek on Friday 19 November. How many tickets can I purchase in one transaction? You can purchase up to nine tickets per transaction.
There are no exchanges or refunds if you change your mind or can no longer attend for personal reasons. However there are circumstances under the Australian Consumer Law where you may be entitled to an exchange or refund, such as where a performance is cancelled.
Ticket exchanges are available for anyone unwell, self-isolating awaiting a COVID test result, or those affected by government mandated restrictions. To eliminate the risk of fraud, you are advised to only purchase tickets from ticketmaster. Many unofficial sellers will list tickets for sale, even though they do not actually have those tickets. They are speculating that they will be able to get tickets and then resell them to fans.
Those speculative listings are not real tickets in hand they do not actually have tickets to sell. Beware of these sellers. The Princess Theatre values your security and safety. As such, security screening will be taking place at the theatre prior to admittance for both Parts One and Two of the Play. In accordance with the Theatre Conditions of Entry, all bags will be searched upon entry and any Prohibited or Restricted items, including alcohol or professional photography, video or audio recording equipment will not be allowed inside the building.
Patrons may also be subject to further screening if warranted. No suitcases or large bags with dimensions greater than A3 will be allowed into the theatre and there will be no storage space immediately outside.
Please make arrangements to leave suitcases and large bags elsewhere. Personal items cannot be left at your seats between Parts and you must take all your belongings with you. Please arrive from up to 45 minutes before the start time of each performance in order to ensure you are seated in good time. There are bars with refreshments to enjoy and opportunities to purchase official merchandise before the show.
