For each switch activated, however, a number of enemies will appear, which the player then has to defeat. The boss fought by the player in Rooftop Run is the Egg Devil Ray , a large mech resembling a fish, with laser cannons floating around it, which is piloted by Dr. For this boss battle, the player controls Sonic the Hedgehog. During the battle, the Egg Devil Ray will either fire giant laser beams covering entire tracks or launch small fireballs.
At some points during the battle, the player's perspective will switch to bird's eye view, or from 3D to 2.
